Hi fellow boatbuilders,
I used the blueprints for the hull and added a fore and aft deck for floatation and storage. The middle rowing bench encloses 4 semitraction batteries and the drive and control head for the motor. I used a 80 pound minn kota electric motor built into the rudder which will drive the boat at half power for about 8 hours at just under hull speed (ca 5 knots) in total silence. To take up the forces in the rear I let (ca 2cm) in a mahogany cross plank connecting the horizontal planking. The boat is built out of Gua Riuba (FSC teak alternative, very strong), epoxy glued, stainless steel nailed. Below the waterline I have added two layers of glass and epoxy. The result is a pretty slippery launch for a day’s cruise or a real sexy fishing boat.
Drawings were great to work with:real blueprints in stead of CAD drawings!
