Born and raised on the Great Lakes, I'm at home on the water. While I've never built a boat, my step-father and I restored a 1954 Lyman Islander (profile pic) when I was a young teen. It was then that I fell in love with chrome, mahogany, straight pipes, and saw dust. Many years later, my son and I are off on our own boat building adventure. I can only hope that he too falls in love with wood boating ......... before he develops a taste for lipstick.
