My ‘Union Jack’ has reached the stage of a completed hull and superstructure (in steel). We are currently sorting out details of such things as the sliding doors and where all the holes in tanks and the hull have to be. Indeed so far as possible anything that has to be cut or welded before we get to shot-blasting and painting. Just for the hell of it we are very tempted to put the engine in, jury rig a fuel supply and give a whirl in the water first. A little more rust on the sheets won’t matter at this stage. I’ll add some pictures when I’ve worked out how to do that!
