Warning! Boat Building is an Addiction
Building a boat is definitely an addiction and boat builder Kevin Brown has coined that phrase for himself.
The Squirt is the second Glen-L boat that Kevin has built and is not the last. The first was our Tubby Tug design that is a little 9′ tug he built for his daughter.
The Squirt is by far the most popular design we have and there’s a huge number of photos in our Customer Photos section. This little 10 foot runabout may be small, but it packs a punch! It’s a fast and fun little boat that has captivated many builders over the years and provided lots of great times for families throughout the generations. Maybe we should call it a funabout instead of a runabout!
The Squirt is designed for outboard power, but Kevin opted to install a jet motor on his. We have several articles in the Newsletter section of our website that builders have provided on how to do this. One of the articles shows step-by-step how one builder made this alteration in his Squirt. Taking an old Sea-Doo or other jet ski motor is an economical and novel way to power this little design.
This is a real short interview and will show what you can do if you just decide to. Wouldn’t this be a great opportunity to spend time with your kids or grandkids? Imagine the skills they can learn while building a boat and how much fun you can have together using it!
