Frequently we receive emails asking what is included in a set of plans and patterns, or what are the contents of a Stitch and Glue Kit. Or, what are the dimensions on this strut, etc… you get the picture. The following should clear up those questions and if you keep reading, I’ll tell you about a free offer…

All of the above information is in our online store and try as we may, we aren’t having much success at communicating this. For every item in our online store, if you click on the description or item number, you’ll be taken to another page that will list the details about the item or kit. On that same page, there is also a link to purchase the item and the price, etc. For example, if you click on Riviera Fiberglass Kit, you’ll be taken to a page that will list all of the items and quantities that you will get in this kit. Anyway, I hope that helps to answer some questions…

Also, many online shopping carts allow you to check postage prices before you submit the order and ours is no different. I do this all the time when I order online because I’m a cheapo… just click on the “Buy” buttons to add the items you are interested in to your cart. After adding the last item, click on the link at the top of the first page of the cart that reads “click here to estimate shipping cost”. A page will open up for you to choose your country and enter your zip or postal code. If your country doesn’t have a postal code, just enter 5 zeros (00000). You will be given several different shipping options–if you want to go ahead and order, just close that window and then proceed from the previous screen.

If your order will be shipped to a country outside the US, you will still need to enter a “state” from the drop down list. Just select the first option which is “International”.

Sometimes postage will not calculate through the online store and that is usually because the weight of the items is too heavy. If this happens, we’ll email you with postage options and prices before we ship your order. The online shopping system does have its limitations.

Lastly, I’d love to give you a copy of our book, Boatbuilding 101 at no cost to you because I do appreciate that you take the time to read my posts. This book is a compilation of articles written by our staff and they detail all different topics on boat building. You can get it free by entering your information at the box at the right. Enjoy!

The junction of the side and bottom planking or the member backing this junction.
DOUBLE CHINE – Having an additional planking junction between the chine and the sheer, giving the hull a more rounded look.
HARD CHINE– Having a distinct bottom/side planking junction as opposed to a rounded curve.
