The Zip 14′ Runabout is one of our most popular designs. Chris Atwood, AKA “vupilot” on the Boatbuilder Forum, did a beautiful job on his “First Born”.
Before building the Zip, Chris had built model boats and airplanes. In this video Chris shares:
- What made him decide to build a boat
- How many hours it took
- How much it cost
- Why he chose Glen-L plans over any other
- The ideal power for the Zip
- Would he build another boat
We’re so proud of the beautiful boat Chris built. It is truly rewarding for us here at Glen-L to see a young man accomplish a project like this. Creating and building in wood is a rewarding endeavor that many in the younger generations unfortunately miss out on. Not Chris!
