Happy Fourth of July!

All of us here at Glen-L want to wish our fellow Americans a Happy Fourth of July.

I realize that many of you reading this are outside the US. Though you may not share our holiday, I hope you have wonderful weekend as well!

Our family will be spending the fourth at “The Pond” as we do every year. My dad has some property down south in California with a 3/4 acre pond and beautiful surroundings and huge oak trees. We gather there with friends and family to enjoy food and good company. I hope you you have good things planned as well.

Sometimes we get caught up in fireworks and food and fun that we forget what we’re celebrating.

In the Jewish culture, the Passover meal is used to commemorate the Israelites exodus from Egypt and has kept those memories alive for thousands of years.

One of my favorite talk show hosts is Dennis Prager and he’s put together a “Fourth of July Declaration” to use in a similar way as the Passover meal to commemorate Independence Day. I just thought some of you might find this a way to add meaning to this year’s celebration.

What ever you do, be safe and sane!
